Speaking of the "Faith in Action" video, has anyone noticed the part where C.T.R is shown typing (or writing, I am not sure) while in the background you can see the actual article scrolling down. You actually can see 606 B.C. Moments later there's a time line with 607 BCE as the starting point for the seven times prophecy. A mistake? An undercover apostate?

Misquotes, Lies and deception in Watchtower Publications
by jwfacts ini have just finished an article misquotes, deception and lies and would like your comments, proof reading, and any other examples that you think are important to add.
most of these already appear on jwfacts.com within specific articles, but it is more powerful seeing them included together.
there have also been a number of requests over the years for such a collection.

If The Watch Tower Society Was Your Real Mother and Father, Would You Want To Live At Home?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inthe restrictive life style watch tower society puts on its members is smothering.
the ones who stay living with "mom" and "dad" must obey their rules.
talk about dysfunctional, overbearing parents with impossible ideals for their child.. bethelites = live at home with mother & father.

If the Watchtower were my mother/father I would make myself an orphan within a day.

WT is here to stay. It actually is a good choice for those who like to be told how to live their lives, for the weak and the hopeless. There will alway be people like that. However, the peak of the WT was in the recent past, the present, or the very near future. The Internet has and will continue to weaken this pack of liars until all they have left as members is the most gullible of society.

Are atheists afraid of archaeology?
by Xanthippe inlarsinger thinks we are.
i have to answer this because it makes my blood boil.
this is one of the key things that trapped me in a religion for the first 30 years of my life.. we were told the archaeologists have found ur of the chaldeans, babylon, nineveh and evidence for the existence of the hittites.therefore the other things in the bible must be true.. archaeologsts have also found troy in modern day turkey.

Quite the opposite. We are very hopeful that archaelogy will keep finding more and more evidence to put an end to superstition and Dark Ages religions, which are still extant in the 21st century, e.g. JW's

by never a jw ini just realized that the hebrews got their butts kicked every time.

I just realized that the Hebrews got their butts kicked every time. First Egypt, then Assyria, then Babylon, then Medo-Persia, then Greece, then Rome, then many Cathoilc countries in Europe, then, well, some more unpleasant examples in recent times that I feel bad to mention. Who is to blame? Their Omnipotent, Omniscient coach, or themselves, the Hebrews/Jews? If the coach is responsible for all the "losses" and refuses to take responsibility by making up punishment stories, how can anyone trust a coach with such a horrible record? You just never know when His petulant mood is going to turn agaist his own team and inflict another "loss". No wonder atheism is going up.

So...why is taking blood essentially viewed as unforgivable by the WT?
by sd-7 inbeen hearing about this 'grey's anatomy' episode, and while i didn't see it, it brought up a question i wanted to throw out there, albeit a long-winded one, as is my usual nature.. the fact that people would rather die than take blood, as if...if they take it, they're doomed for sure to not make the new system--it doesn't make sense to me.
people both in the organization and the bible stories are forgiven for heinous crimes, murder, adultery, child sacrifice, everything up to and including denying jesus altogether.
(let's not forget child molestation and rape, apparently...) so why does it seem like this one act is presented to jws as one that's never to be forgiven?.

The latest change of doctrine regarding blood fractions strikes me as a transition to permitting full blood transfusions. A step that, if it takes place, may bring huge legal ramifications. Imagine all the relatives of unfortunate people who rejected a blood transfusion and died as a result. They may come back against the WT for not changing the doctrine soon enough. I feel that the wrong headed doctrine is not changed because the mighty dollar precludes a sensible decision.

"It's a privilege", "Los privilegios" referring to cleaning the toilets or just about any chore, position or responsibility. I am not quite sure about the wording in English because I have always attended meetings in Spanish.
"The Truth" annoys the hell out of me but also brings the sardonic smile of someone who knows better.

Insearchoftruth,
Can you please explain. I know little about the Bible because I became an atheist in my early teens. Lately, hoever, as a result of my marriage to a JW I have discovered disturbing uses of the Bible to manipulate and control people. In few words what do you mean with your statement.
"This likely explains the duplicity of 2nd kings 19 and Isaiah 37"

The point of my request to Besty (click vs clique) is that we should not be so quick to cavil about typos in other people's comments because we may open ourselves to crticism that may reveal the more serious spelling or grammatical errors in our own comments.
